High Performance Multi-layer Coating on the Sea-crossing Bridge Piles

Abstract: Sea-crossing bridge piles works in various marine environments, such as splash zone, subsea water and muddy seabed. Corrosion is often a principal determiner of the designed expectancy of the piles. The triple layer construction of coating has been recently developed for the sea-crossing Hangzhou Bay bridge piles. All three layers are simultaneously fusion bonded together to form unique construction of coating on steel pipe. The newly developed method is advantageous in many respects over the existing usual practices in corrosion protection of the bridge.
